EducationFellowship / ClinicalGeneralClinical Fellowship Our program is now an ACGME accredited multidisciplinary one-year program designed to provide fellows with the highly intensive training in diagnostic and therapeutic interventional spine techniques and research. As of July, 2005 – the program has been combined between the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation service & the Pain Service. We have 6 joint fellowship positions available, and have roughly 7 -10 didactic/lecture sessions per week. Fellows will learn to evaluate and treat routine and complicated spine problems using non-surgical methods and will participate in cutting-edge research projects. In addition to advancing their clinical evaluation skills, fellows will develop their skills in a variety of traditional procedures, including myofascial trigger point injection, epidural steroid injection, facet injection and peripheral nerve blocks (e.g. ilioinguinal, occipital, & suprascapular). Fellows will also learn more sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic techniques such as intradiscal therapies, spinal cord stimulation , pump implantation and radiofrequency lesioning.
Fellow Responsibilities Along with these duties, Fellows will be have the opportunity to participate in animal, cadaver, and clinical research projects. Fellows will particpate in weekly spine journal club discussions, lectures and contribute to teaching and supervising research assistants, medical students, interns and residents. back to top ApplicationApplication Process Pre-requisites: Clinical Spine Fellow candidates must meet the following requirements:
